In politics a quote must be exact never a paraphrase. This is enforced with open politics in force. The word quote is reserved in living ontology for two uses only:
  • an exact quote of a specific person, preferably on a given date or in a given document that provides context
  • a financial quote which is a numeric quote regarding a price in a market, e.g. bid and ask information

The word cite is also reserved for situations where the quote is directly from a perfect authority or claims or conclusions have been published in a peer reviewed journal.
