  • Province releases "Draft Provincial Biodiversity Strategy" and invites public comment: MNR release

Extending Highway 427.

  • In a March 31, 2004 letter, MTO announced the GTA North Transportation (427) Corridor project is "no longer active" instead, they are going ahead in planning the extension of the 427 to the CP Intermodal facility in Vaughan. The primary objective of this new initiative is to address existing and short-term transportation issues south of the Greenbelt and facilitate planning and development. A new website www.427corridor.com has been set up. Going to the website, the news is more ominous...

Feds cutting enforcment officers.

  • The Federal Government is considering cutting 23 Department of Fisheries and Oceansenforcement officers in Southern Ontario.
