Jesus Troll

In troll culture, the Jesus Troll is the first of several trolls to enter a large public wiki and achieve lifetime ban from its administrators. This permits other trolls to analyze the sensitivities and weak points of its administrators, and perhaps encourage trollherds to enforce troll-friendly policy. Accordingly, in computer security lingo, it can be considered to be a form of social engineering penetration test.

The phrase what would Jesus troll?, a play on "what would Jesus drive", evokes the Christian obligation to speak truth to power, and seems to be a trollist justification. The usefulness of trolling is not however accepted by everyone.

The title of Troll Pope is related to this metaphor.
