The wikistyle format is the native editing syntax for content in mediawiki and getwiki. All of the mediawiki-based services manage all of their content in wikistyle.
For Living Platform purposes the significance of wikistyle is that it is used to express the GFDL corpus namespace and indeed the whole GFDL corpus. The list of policy terms will ALWAYS AND ONLY BE EXPRESSED AS TERMS ALREADY DEFINED IN THE GFDL CORPUS which is not much of a constraint, as there are over FOUR HUNDRED THOUSAND OF THESE in English alone.
Wikistyle is not supported by tikiwiki which is the main reason to dump it - see fatal tikiwiki flaws - ASAP.
