Rights in the political sense are either explicit (as in the charter of rights?) or implicit (as in the social contract), priviliges that are given to people based on their status. In liberal democracy, all citizens and usually all residents share in the basic rights of citizenship. Rights are also known as freedoms.

Rights

victims rights - the right of victims to humane treatment and consideration by the justice system.
civil rights - usually referes to rights promoting equality between races, the sexes, nationalities, etc.
human rights - "basic" rights such as freedom from torture, access to justice,
right to die - also called "death with dignity" or euthanasia?
right to life? - a slogan for those against abortion.
voting rights? - or the right to vote.
prisoners rights? - in war or in the justice system.
animal rights - protecting animals from humans.
workers rights? - the right to safe working conditions, collective bargaining, a 40 hour work week, overtime, etc.
property rights - protecting private property? from illegal seizure or appropriation.
legal rights? - including the (right to an attourney, innocent until proven guilty etc.)
right to bear arms? - see also gun control
miranda rights? - is what peple are "read" when they are arrested.
devine right? of kings
childrens rights? - protecting children from adults, usually.
negative rights? - a right to be protected from something bad happening.
positive rights? - a right to be provided with something.
exclusive rights? - rights which are given to the exclusion of others.
