open politics itself, when trying to define, apply, interpret, situate, restate or alter the definition of
open politics, e.g. contest or extend the
open politics principles. Please note that this is not the same as
openpolitics.ca itself which is a
web service, nor the same as
open politics web, nor the same as the
open politics foundation which takes on responsibility for tracking one, but not approving or censoring any other, extant definition of the concept.
We do real
politics at
open politics itself. Thus:
- our administrator guidelines are troll-friendly
- our senior editor guidelines emphasize equal power relationships and do not assume any authority
- we prefer democratic structuring to command hierarchy
- the political virtues are advisable, even to trolls
- sticks and stones? will break our bones, but words will never hurt us - still, try to keep this from being a libel pit
- explicit bias?, tendency, faction and party? declarations are welcome, indeed encouraged
- self-assess?ment is also welcome and encouraged, especially re: the Four Pillars or political virtues
- self-interview? is also welcome and encouraged, to help others know you better and find common interests
- debate by edit is encouraged over debate by comment?
- we take consensus decision making very seriously
- we apply the twelve levers as efficienty as we can
- we discourage technological escalation, e.g. resolving disputes by force
- we welcome politics as usual, e.g. negative campaign ad?s, up to but not over the limits of libel in the Province of Quebec - see terms of use
