groupthink is a
systemic bias problem in
decision making. It can be viewed as a
tensegrity incompatible with the surrounding environment that propagates itself - a strictly human error that is imposed on everyone and everything
not there in the room decisions are made. It lets those of
like mind pretend to represent
everyone else.
Some portray it as a psychological cancer that reduces
psychodiversity and interferes directly with
consensus decision making by imposing
unanimity and suppressing
dissensus.
Various solutions including right of appeal
?,
democratic structuring, mandatory outreach
?,
GROOP and
Bonser method have been implemented to ensure that there are at least multiple opportunities to review a decision, even by the same group.
