One of several volunteer centres
Some editing centre concerns:
- taking over things the copywriting centre is consistently screwing up, and letting the research centre take over things the editors screw up
- changing OBVIOUS bad page names, e.g. "Summary", to fit the naming conventions and prevent inevitable name clashes or confusions
- reminding trolls of Terms of Use
- GPC wiki training level 2 - actually training real editors
- Living Platform and GPC vocabulary and translation - what can be in Simple English? What just requires more words?
- ensuring the list of policy terms is complete given the list of platform proposals found in any and all platform planks
- finding uses of unnecessarily coined or invented terms if there are near-equivalent terms that already exist in mainstream dialogue - work with research centre to establish "which terms to bet on"
- exploiting google rank? and Trillian Instant Lookup to help to coordinate editors, track meaning of Party-specific terms, and ask researchers and legislators for opinions on difficult problems
- finding out what Issue Advocates need and getting it done for them
- adding links to Issue Advocate statements, press releases and position papers - identifying personal positions and asking those who author them under generic names to change those names
- participate in routine answer recommendation especially Answers to Questionnaires, Policy FAQ handling, and policy comparison, without upsetting researchers, legislators and Issue Advocates too much - do as much pre-work for these as is possible
