Liberal Party

The People's Parliament has 25 seats reserved for Liberal MPs
The Liberal Party has no objection to the candidacy of official Liberal candidates in the People's Parliament. In fact, Richard Mahoney? the official candidate in Ottawa Centre, agrees with the (tongue in cheek) kidnapping claim made in the People’s Parliament poster: "25 Liberal MPs are missing . . . the FPTP electoral system has been identified as the tool used to perpetrate the crime."

Bloc Quebecois

The Bloc is over-represented in the Commons - but the People's Parliament has reserved 1 seat for Bloc MPs
The BQ has no position on the candidacy of official BQ candidates in the People's Parliament. In fact, BQ leader Giles Duceppe? was the only party leader to not answer the question posed by Canadian Press on proportional representation. One Gatineau Bloc Quebecois candidate canvassed by the PP refused to state any position on PR. He claimed that supporting Electoral Reform would be inconsistent with that party’s separatist stance. (The Bloc is currently the most over-represented party in the House of Commons, with 75% of the Quebec MPs, and less than half of the Quebec popular vote.)

The People's Parliament does not wish to exclude the party that received almost half of the Quebec popular vote. Therefore, we will provide one seat to the BQ candidate with the highest number of votes (subject to approval by a vote of the PP).
