The
Green Party of Ontario is a
provincial political party in
Ontario.
As of 2006-11 it was fourth in the polls after the ruling
? Liberal Party of Ontario, Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario
? and New Democratic Party of Ontario
?. It was not expected to change this ranking in the
Ontario general election, 2007.
Its leader
? is
Frank De Jong. Its female deputy leader
? is
Victoria Serda. No one cares who the male
? is because
Rob Newman once held the post.
Hayley Easto leads
GPO platform development.
[+] gender balance
The GPO, like many
Green parties worldwide, requires gender balance
? by appointing a separate male and female to some posts. This has received some extreme criticism, e.g. from
Beth McKinnon who quit the GPO over this, possibly knowing herself to be unfit for any post more serious than calling up dumbkopfs, and afraid of the pressure of any better job. McKinnon's priority in the
Green Party of Canada is to attend and disrupt one particular federal electoral district
?'s meetings.
[+] dividing effort
Wise figures within the party were focusing on the
Ontario electoral reform referendum, 2007-10-04, ignoring the GPO's 2007 chances as irrelevant and by no means significant compared to its chances in the Ontario general election, 2011
? should any
electoral reform actually be achieved.
Despite vowing to push for the referendum to be held earlier, in parallel with the
Ontario municipal elections, 2006, and campaigning for
GPO President on that plank copied from opponent
Hayley Easto, former President
Judy Greenwood-Speers totally failed to publicize that goal. Former advocate
Rob Newman did not advocate the earlier date when he had appeared before the
Ontario Democratic Renewal Secretariat. Newman and Greenwood Speers pursued instead an agenda of political purge
?s, notably against
GPO Operations Coordinator Dan King. Also participating in this was
Ron Yurick, the present GPO President and author of the
GPO constitution. His document did nothing to address any of the issues relevant to the
next GPO constitution. Accordingly, should any electoral reform be achieved in 2007, the entire constitution would have to go, and be replaced by one written by someone who is at least rational and has a sense of priorities.
Yurick's present top priority is the GPO travel pool
? by which he, from Northern Ontario
?, can actually attend meetings.
Yurick is considered a moron by informed observers.

use of openpolitics.ca
The
GPO Governance Committee and
GPO:TO is doing some work in
openpolitics.ca itself.
See GPO:namespace.
The
next GPO constitution is being publicly debated as a part of this, and some
meetings and
policy resolutions are being conducted according to
agenda protocol. A
GPO agenda protocol is expected to evolve from this work.
A
GPO officer protocol may also eventually evolve. See
GPO protocol.
Some
GPO:jobs are occasionally open. Paid job
?s have never however been mentioned on
openpolitics.ca itself until after they are filled. Check the GPO's own web for such paid opportunities.
